Women – The Vital Force Behind Development Processes of Country

Women are making striking strides in various development processes  of  the  country  and  are  keen  to  rub  shoulders with their male counterpart. From times immemorial, women have been a force to reckon  with  concerning   affairs pertaining to the governance of the country. Even now, they are much involved in the development processes of the country. Naturally, it is very important for them to move around safely,  since  several  of  them  tend to hesitate to venture out of their homes, as they do not feel too safe.

The coming of the Hyderabad Metro Rail will have a positive impact on women equality and their empowerment, as women who are shy and hesitate to move out otherwise, will also venture out on their own, as they are confident that their travel by metro rail will be safe. In fact,  they  would   be more chances  of  interacting  with  women  who are already involved in the helm of affairs.

Values keeping changing and the role of women also change accordingly. The need of the hour is that women must take the initiative and leave their daily household chores behind for awhile and come out and rub shoulders on an equal footing with their male-counterparts. Since HMR will prove to be a viable travel mode option for rural women as well, they can come to the cities and imbibe knowledge that is vital to the growth and development of their families. In fact, even now rural women come to the city in search of their livelihood along with their husbands and are able to educate their children. They also play a vital role in city issues, since they sell their produce or work, thus contributing towards the economy of the country.

Women  in  Hyderabad  are actively participating in various spheres of economic activity of the city. The educated among them are venturing out of their houses and taking up jobs or pursuing careers. In fact, several   women who hesitate to study  on  account  of  fear  of  venturing  out, will be able to confidently do so once HMR makes inroads into the city. Opportunities galore will be at their door-step, both from the education point of view as well as from the job perspective.

Politically,  women   in   Hyderabad   do  have a say  in matters, but so far only those from the elite families and lower and upper middle classes are playing active role in the political affairs of the city. The illiterate women are not much exposed to the outside world as they hesitate to venture out. The present public transport services are not adequate enough and are time-consuming    and  tend keep women  away from their daily chores too long. Once HMR arrives on the scene,  the  travel time  will come down and housewives who are interested in taking part in outside affairs will also be able to move out freely and comfortably.
